Sample cooler

SGI-300 Peltier sample gas cooler

A Peltier sample gas cooler with the peristaltic drain pump, fine filter, condensate sensor and sample-pump control built into one wall-mounted housing. It cools the sample to 5 °C and runs your sample pump only when the gas is cold and dry.

SGI-300
  • ISO 9001:2015, certified by TÜV
  • Designed and built in Pune since 2002
  • Supplied to Reliance, Tata Steel, Indian Oil, Linde and ISRO
Quick answer

SGI-300 is a compact Peltier sample gas cooler with a PTFE heat exchanger, integrated peristaltic auto-drain, 0.1 micron coalescing filter and condensate sensor. It holds the outlet near 5 C and stops the sample pump if the sample is wet or warm.

Why SGI-300

One housing, four functions

Cooler, drain pump, condensate sensor and fine filter in one unit: fewer tubes and fittings, and a shorter bill of materials.

Protects the analyser

The sample pump runs only below 12 °C with no condensate; a fault relay trips if either condition is lost.

A long life on acidic gas

Solid-state Peltier cooling and a PTFE heat exchanger, with no compressor or refrigerant.

Key features

  • Microprocessor electronics with inbuilt moisture and condensate protection logic
  • Integrated peristaltic pump, sample filter and condensate sensor
  • Relay output to drive an external sample pump directly; alarm relay
  • Auto start-up sequence and auto shutdown on hardware failure
  • Four LED indicators: power, cooler temperature, pump and condensate

How it works

A sample gas cooler removes water from the sample before it reaches the analyser, so that condensate cannot damage it and soluble gases are not lost in uncontrolled condensation. Peltier coolers are solid-state, with no refrigerant and no compressor, which makes them compact and reliable.

SGI-300 adds the parts that normally surround a cooler: the drain pump, the filter, the condensate sensor, and logic that stops the sample pump if the sample is wet or warm. It trips the external pump on condensate detection and raises a fault when the cooler is above 12 C or condensate is detected. Peltier cooling is solid state and environment friendly, and the PTFE heat exchanger gives a long life on acidic sample gas.

Requirements and limits

  • Safe-area unit.
  • Suitable for samples with SO2, NOx and CO below 1000 ppm. Not suitable for samples containing HCl, HF, H2S or other highly corrosive, toxic or flammable gases.

Selection guidance

Choose SGI-300 when you are building your own sampling panel and want a self-contained cooler. Choose i-Cons when you want the whole sample system with diagnostics, blowback and heated hose control in one cabinet.

Frequently asked questions

What is SGI-300?

A compact Peltier sample gas cooler with integrated auto-drain, filter and condensate sensor.

Does it protect the analyser from water?

Yes. A condensate sensor and pump logic stop the pump when the sample is wet or warm.

What is the outlet temperature?

The controller holds the sample outlet at 5 C.

What is the difference from i-Cons?

i-Cons includes the pump, blowback and heated-hose control and diagnostics in one cabinet.
