Gas sample probes: SP-100, SP-200 and heated SP-300

Representative samples from hot, dusty and wet process gas. Separate sample and blowback lines clean the filter properly, and a non-return valve removes the need for a heated valve in the sample line. Probe tubes in SS316, Inconel 625 and ceramic cover process temperatures up to 1400 °C.

  • ISO 9001:2015, certified by TÜV
  • Designed and built in Pune since 2002
  • Supplied to Reliance, Tata Steel, Indian Oil, Linde and ISRO
Quick answer

SP-100 is a simple probe, SP-200 adds a separate blowback line with an unheated filter, and SP-300 has a heated filter. Materials are SS316 to 550 C, Inconel 625 to 1100 C, ceramic to 1400 C and PTFE to 180 C, with a 2 inch ANSI connection.

Why Sample probes SP-100, SP-200 and SP-300

Blowback that cleans

A separate 1/2 inch blowback line delivers a high flow of air back through the filter, with a blowback solenoid valve as standard on SP-300.

No cold spots

The SP-300 filter sits just outside the stack and is heated evenly with 50 W, for samples with up to 15 % moisture.

Built for the process

Probe tubes in SS316 to 550 °C, Inconel 625 to 1100 °C or ceramic to 1400 °C, with a 10 micron sintered SS316 filter.

Key features

  • Filter element in SS 316, Hastelloy, Monel or PTFE; protector for abrasive gas
  • SP-200 and SP-300: separate sample and blowback lines; 1/2 inch blowback line for efficient cleaning
  • Non-return valve in the sample line removes the need for a heated solenoid or air-operated valve
  • SS 316 sintered filter for long life and easy cleaning
  • SP-300 filter is heated and sits just outside the stack; blowback solenoid valve standard; optional blowback tank
  • Various pressure ratings available on SP-100

How it works

The probe is the first component of a sampling system and the first to fail in dirty gas. A filter at the tip keeps dust out of the line, but the filter then clogs, so probes for dusty or tarry gas have a blowback line that sends clean air back through the filter. i-Cons and SGI-320 time and trigger the blowback.

Choose the material from the gas temperature and corrosiveness. For gas above the dew point of its condensables, a heated filter such as SP-300 keeps tar and acid from forming at the filter. SP-200 suits low dew point samples.

Selection guidance

Use SP-100 for simple, clean or moderately dusty gas, SP-200 for dusty gas with a low dew point, and SP-300 for gas with a high dew point. Where removal under pressure is needed, see the retractable probe.
